On the whisky walking tour in Edinburgh New Town you will visit specialist whisky bars and local pubs where you will try 5-6 whiskies included in the price and the tour is charged at £49pp and is currently a private tour where we require a minimum of 2 people. The tours run Monday-Friday (please enquire if you wish a weekend tour) and start from Usquabae on Hope Street at 1.00pm unless otherwise stated and lasts 2.5-3 hours. We like to include a stop at the Single Malt Whisky Society, but if it has already been booked for private functions this is not always possible.

For the whisky driving tours to distilleries we offer a day trip to the Highlands or the Lowlands and in between stops your guide will go more in depth to the history and cultural significance of whisky as well we seeing some great sights along the way where you will have the chance to stop for photos of some iconic Scottish views and learn more about Scottish history and culture. In between distilleries we stop at local pubs for beer or whisky tastings (included in price of tour) and lunch (lunch at own cost).

For the Highlands whisky driving tours you can visit traditional distilleries for tours and tastings as well as visit specialist whisky bars/retailers for tastings customized to the whisky you like rather than just standard offerings on most tours. The tours leave between 8-8.30am depending on where you are staying aim to return for 5-6pm. We aim to visit Glengoyne distillery and Deanston distilleries, one for a tour, one for a tasting and we also visit a local bar for beer or whisky tasting with lunch in between distilleries or whisky specialist shop for a tasting. As an example, at Glengoyne you will have a tour of the distillery with two single malts to try (or for an extra £15pp upgrade to 3 whiskies paired with artisan chocolates payable on the day) and at Deanston Distillery you will try three whiskies straight from the cask in one of their warehouses. Which distilleries we visit and which tours/tastings we get can be subject to change. Other than the distilleries we will visit a whisky specialist shop for  tasting or a local bar where beers or whisky can be sampled. The price is £165pp for the first three people (£495 total with a minimum of three required to book) and £90pp thereafter up to a maximum of 7 people. This price includes your distillery tour, tastings, transportation and bottles of water. Lunch and other refreshments are at your own cost These tours are offered daily subject to availability.

For the Lowland tours we still head north of Edinburgh to the St Andrews area where we can visit the first distillery ever to be recognised as officially producing whisky, Lindores Abbey, which has recently re-opened after being closed for more than 500 years. Here you can tour the distillery and taste the first incarnation of whisky, "aqua vitae" as well as some other drams. After that we can visit Kingsbarns Distillery which released it's first single malt in 2019 for a tour where you get to try their new make spirit and a Wemyss Malt,  or a tasting of three single cask whiskies from the Wemyss family (casks they acquire from different Scottish distilleries to give you a flavour of Scottish whisky. We can also visit a famous whisky shop in St Andrews for a tailored tasting or visit a local gastropub that makes their own brew where you can sample some of their beers. This tour starts at £150pp for the first 3 people (with a minimum of three people required to book therefore (£450 in total) and £60pp thereafter up to a maximum of 7 people. This price includes your distillery tour, tastings, transportation and bottles of water. Lunch and other refreshments are at your own cost These tours are offered daily subject to availability.

Will who started Iconic Tours in 2013 has been lucky enough to work at Whisky magazine Japan as chief photographer for many years,  provided images for Dave Broom's World Atlas of Whisky, provided coverage of Whisky Live and has been lucky enough to visit some of the best distilleries in Scotland and abroad and has been to the best whisky bars from Edinburgh to Tokyo. He's had great reasonably priced whisky, amazing and expensive whisky plus eye-wateringly expensive whisky that wasn't that good at all, all for the sake of research. His search for his perfect dram has taken him on many an adventure and he loves to share everything he has learned.
